Celeste & Steve, you're not planning a reception. You're creating a gathering.
This spring, about 100 of the people you love will come together in St. Louis to celebrate your marriage. It's design-forward, intimate and completely your own. There's no ceremony, no first dance, no cake cutting and no bouquet toss. Instead, the evening is built around food, music, conversation, art and the joy of simply being together.
Its creative language comes from the myth of Pygmalion and the visual storytelling of Winter Ahead: love bringing life, warmth, movement and color into the world. Your guests arrive in ivory, cream and alabaster, and the room turns soft and sculptural around them. Then there are the two of you, in vivid color, the heartbeat of the evening. Sculptural white calla lilies. Layered natural textures. Soft jazz drifting through the room. Lighting that feels cinematic, sophisticated and just a little unexpected.
Dinner isn't something your guests sit through. It's something they experience. Lounge seating, an interactive menu and conversations that carry late into the night.
The inspiration is felt, never literally interpreted. No one walks in thinking "theme." They just feel it.
You've already built a beautiful creative direction. Our role is to collaborate with you, challenge ideas when it makes the experience better, refine every detail, source the right creative partners and take full ownership of bringing it all together. From St. Louis to a grand finale in Germany, you get to enjoy your celebration, not manage it.

And we're off! We talked through your vision, your inspiration and exactly how you want the evening to feel. I left our call SO inspired, and this is only the beginning.

This is where it becomes official. Look over your personalized contract and invoice, and once your 15% retainer comes through by ACH or wire, your dates are ours. The rest is split into four installments around your St. Louis and Germany celebrations. We'll lock in the exact due dates as soon as your event dates are set.

It’s time to create magic.
My favorite part. We'll take the beautiful direction you've already built and refine it together. I'll push back when an idea could be even better, and I'll bring in the right creative partners for lighting, florals, music and art. We'll also work through The Dogwoods menus and shape your investment so every dollar feels intentional.

Now it all comes to life. We'll plan an evening that flows naturally without a single formality, a lounge-style dinner your guests will actually experience, and guidance to help everyone arrive in ivory, cream and alabaster. Every detail, down to the very last one, has a purpose.

Through Coda's Travel, I'll plan your travel and help your guests with theirs. From sourcing local vendors in Germany to handling every logistic abroad, you won't have to think twice about it.

Charley's greatest assets are her organization (so many spreadsheets!), her ability to stay on top of vendors who are not always as organized as she is, her desire to create a wedding personalized to each couple, and her TEAM. When you hire Coda you don't just get Charley, but Emiliana, Loren, Maggie – sometimes even Charley's mom! Everyone we worked with was so kind and just as organized and capable as Charley.
In the end we had a beautiful wedding weekend that felt totally reflective of us as a couple. And if anything went wrong, I didn't know about it, because Charley and her team handled it before I could ever find out. Thank you Coda's!!”

Hey, hey! It’s ya girl, Charley! I’m the founder, creative director, & fairy godmuva of Coda’s Events, a St. Louis wedding and event planning company making magic for the lovers. With my classic Pisces energy and creative vision, I began growing Coda’s Events from family birthday party planning to the full-service wedding design and coordination company it is today.
With every event, I fall more in love with not only the wedding industry, but also the dedicated vendors and small businesses who go above and beyond to help me execute each special day.
